Q: What is the GS Fund?

The GS Fund was created to encourage GS students to organize events that will appeal broadly to the GS student body. For the academic year, GSSC has allocated $5,000* to provide opportunities and funding for such student-organized events.

*This budget was approved October 13, 2009 under line item "New Initiative by Finance Committee: Student Organized Events"

Q: What are we looking for?

We are looking for “out of the ordinary” ideas that can bring different groups of GS students together. It can be a social, academic, artistic, athletic or career-oriented event.

Q: What do you need to be eligible?

  • An application needs to be submitted by noon on April 1, 2010.
  • The event needs to occur before May 1, 2010.
  • Applicants need to be an enrolled as full-time or part-time students at GS during the Spring 2010 semester.
  • You can apply as individual or with a team; the team leader cannot be a sitting GSSC council member.
  • The event needs to have an anticipated attendance of at least 30 students.
  • The event needs to be open to all students and cannot be an exclusive event.
  • Already authorized vendors needs to be used for the event.
  • The event organizer will be assigned a liaison person from the GSSC Finance Committee.
  • After a successful event, the organizer will be named “Special Delegate of the Finance Committee”
